Who We Are

Play and Grow Bilingual was founded with every bilingual speech, occupational, and physical therapist in mind, including students. Thoughtful apparel and gifts to honor supervisors, professors, fellow therapists, staff, and future therapists.

How It Started

The founder thought of Play and Grow Bilingual in early 2020. As the bilingual caseload grew, so did the number of bilingual therapists. She then realized the need for materials in Spanish to target specific language goals and merchandise to appreciate her bilingual therapists. The coronavirus pandemic halted the development of Play and Grow Bilingual, which was made official in 2021.

About The Founder

Melixsa Acosta, M.S., CCC-SLP is a Florida state licensed bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist, holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also the founder of a pediatric private practice in South Florida that focuses on bilingual therapy services. Melixsa is from Puerto Rico. She attended the University of Puerto Rico at Bayamón for general education courses and graduated from Carlos Albizu University, San Juan Campus, with a Bachelor’s Degree. Melixsa then obtained her Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University.

Hi! For me, being a bilingual speech-language pathologist is an honor and a privilege. I LOVE my job and love it even more now that I get to share merchandise and therapy materials with fellow bilingual therapists. I’m excited to turn ideas into beautiful, quality products.
